So?

I use to think Dick Cheney was a wimp. Until today.

During a heated discussion with Senator Patrick Leahy (D), Cheney dropped the F-bomb against the opposing Senator. The reports are varied, but Cheney's remarks had something to do with Leahy "having intercourse with himself".

Now THAT is the type of assertivness I want to see from our administration! It has always made me squeamish with the "....well, maybe we did, maybe we didn't have the information...". Good god, man, where are your balls?

I have no shame, I will definitely say that I am Pro-Bush. But....how can I make an analogy as to how I am thinking.......

Ok. Hospital food. Anyone who has had an extended stay in a hospital, or who have helped their parents or grandparents finish their meal in a nursing home, knows how completely BLAND the institution food is. The food is purposely made bland so that it appeals to a larger cross section of people. They patients can "doctor it up" (no pun) to however they see fit. Such is the case with the rhetoric from most of those holding any office, whether it's politician or business owner. The written speeches are purposely made "bland" so as to be positive, but at the same time, bland enough not to offend.

I am damn glad Cheney said what he did, and I am also ecstatic that he is not back-pedalling on the remark. He added a little salsa to the pablum we've been hearing for a long time now. I wish more people in office would have that FIRE. I wish more people in office had the Jessie Ventura mentality without actually being Jessie Ventura. Say what you mean, and mean what you say! If you publicly drop the F-Bomb as it pertains to terrorists, those who slaughter the innocent, those that eliminated 3000 lives on 9/11, the parent that leaves their child locked in a car on a hot summer day; that use of the F-word is perfectly acceptable with me. Because that is the summation of the anger that I am feeling.

Read the linked article, and the only thing that really hit me was the fact that the article just had to say this was a, "Senior Senator (democratic)." So what, even if it was a junior senator , or a republican sometimes you just have to say what is on your mind. Remember these government officials are just people like you and me, thus at times they like us find the need to express themselves in the same manner we do. What the F. . . is she talking about.

You know, it's interesting anyone would equate swearing and cussing with "being a man" or "being assertive". I was always of the understanding that swearing was a sign that a person had run out of intelligent things to say and was falling back on insults as a way of responding to valid criticism.

Perhaps that's what we want in government. We want someone who is not afraid to say f*** you, even if we tell our children it's wrong, even if we feel bad if someone says it to us because it becomes plain now that Lenbert is sanctioning the whole idea of doing so because it shows Cheney isn't a wimp.

No, what he is is clueless.....

except he didn't. he did it to the senator because he was responding to cheney's bitching about criticizing him for his haliburton connections. then the senator fired back saying he didn't like the republicans "democrats not really a catholic since they aren't against abortion" stuff. cheney then won the argument with the f-bomb. whatever, "dick".

i considered just repeating the above argument with 5 variations of the f-word to be concluded by 6 pages of just the f word.

instead i am going to close by saying i got my own little "f u" to give cheney on nov 2 (election day for those outside the us).

Just wondering whether you'd be so supportive if Clinton had told, say, Gingrich to go f himself when challenged about Whitewater. Principles, people.

It takes a very strong willed man to profit of off others misery... I never thought he was a wimp.

I think the Vice President had just reached the end of his patience with these backstabing pussies in the democratic party who are losing thier ass in the power game. They attack his integrity - openly calling him a criminal! I say good for him. I know the propoganda out there says he and Halliburton are out destroying the world for profit and with total disregard for human life. Right! He is a decent honorable man. One has to make the effort to study and learn the real accomplishments of these great men. Unfortunatly most people are to busy or to lazy to do this, so they rely on sound bites to make thier decisions. It is pathetic but true.

It is obvious Russell is one of those people sucked in by the propoganda of fringe left. Poor Russell.

Funny thing about propaganda, when it is backed up by facts is it considered propaganda?

How exactly is it backstabing when they are openly confronting him? Or do you (like Cheney) have nothing intelligent to say and are resorting to mindless insults?

Interesting that freedom of speech is considered backstabbing...

Also interesting that a man of Cheney's intelligence doesn't have a broader vocabulary.

Maybe his hear surgeon missed the heart and got out a chunk of his brain...

Hay guy, I think you are probably a fellow whom an individual may have confidence that you are an honest person with a good
heart. At least that's my impression. Indeed, as I read your narrative in which you stated your approval of the specifi verbal
tacticis employed by the vice president in his interaction with sen.Leheay(?sp.) when the VP. iterated the 'F'**'U' statment which,
by the way, it was an indicator of a certain internal character inherent in the vice president in the first place. Of course people
in general do have their own measures of appropriate speech, but I happen to be the kind of person that sees more from the
stated words along with the meaning..., But I tend to see more than just speech, I also, decipher character of the person doing
the speaking>>>or writing. Consequent to this I disearn that you MUST ALSO BE A VERY STRONG MAN WITH A HUGH SENSE
OF RIGHTIOUSNESS, TRUTH AND RIGHT ACTION. THUS, THE POINT OF MY NOTE TO YOU IS TO INDICATE TO YOU THAT IN MY
EYE SIGHT, YOUR NOTE IN SUPPORT OF MR.CHENEY IN THIS INSTANCE, TELLS ME THAT YOU ARE A GOOD MAN. FOR WHOM
I HAVE VERY HIGH REGARDS. I PRAY BLESSINGS FOR YOU ALL THE DAYS OF YOUR LIFE. SIGNED: GEORGE.

It is funny to me that people forget how at some point in their life they used language that was unbecoming. For you that have never sit in on a board meeting, and heard some of this countries great legal minds use language that what make a sailor put in ear plugs. Or for those who think that a teacher who is truly upset with a student hasn't let slip a little verbage that a parent would be glad to sue over. For those of you who are perfect, but have children how about thinking back in time when you were just a wee bit upset because they continued to do something you didn't like. Oh, and for those of you perfect people attempt to remember what it was like growing up, and you couldn't go out because of something you did that was wrong. Please remember life has its pits falls, thus because of this we have a tendency to say things in the heat of the moment.

I'd agree, but Cheney has said he doesn't regret it at all.
