Regarding your response to my "Fantasy President" post; excellent rebuttal! I am glad that SOMEONE is reading my stuff and actually analyzing it. And after analyzing the points of your rebuttal, I see that I have a lot more work to accomplish as a writer, as the points that I attempted to make in each of these posts, failed to hit their mark.

I wish to formally address each of your comments.

"Politicians should drop more F-bombs"
This is a point that in my original article, I admit I did not clarify effectively. In my second article about the Cheney F-Bomb, I mentioned that I wanted to see more "fire" in politics, as opposed to the limp-wristed political rhetoric that we have been hearing over and over again. I want to see something other than a "talking head" whether they (the politician) shows "anger" or "humor", with or without obscenity. I have great disdain for cardboard cutout politicians! As an example, even though I am Republican, I thought Clinton's speech at the convention was amazing! It was coherent, well constructed, and it had "fire". I did not agree with all of the points made, but it was still an amazing speech none-the-less.

"Entertainers should stay out of politics and keep their opinions to themselves"
No, entertainers should not stay out of politics or keep their opinions to themselves. STUPID, MORONIC entertainers, who have absolutely no clue WTF they're talking about, should, most definitely, stay out of politics! It will cause their political affiliation more harm than good. For any political affiliation, I would certainly not want Whoopi or Rondstadt making comments on their behalf. Dreyfus, however, recently made a very coherent, well-constructed, Pro-Kerry/Anti-Bush speech.

"Entertainers (Jewish stand-up comics) should be politicians"
Completely eliminating the word "Fantasy", which obviously you did, the point of that article was an attempt to touch on the personality traits that I would like to see in a President or Presidential Candidate. Apologies if my sarcasm and (questionable) humor detracted from the intent of the article, not to mention the fact that the article was posted in the "Humor" channel, and not necessarily intended as a political dissertation.

So, "If a Jewish stand-up comic should be elected president it's clear they can drop an F-bomb, but can they give their opinions on politics?"
No.
1. I want a President or Presidential Candidate with charisma and have backbone. I do not want a President or Presidential Candidate that will back-pedal on previous comments. I want someone who doesn't take any shit, but not so much that he or she is a "loose cannon".

2. I want a President or Presidential Candidate who is intelligent and articulate, former entertainer or otherwise; someone who is "plugged in" and not completely oblivious to all that is going on around them. I want someone who can take a step back and see a situation for what it truely is.

3. I want a President or Presidential Candidate who takes family values to heart. There is a lot to be said for someone who has a deep comittment to family values, whether it is in regards to their ethnic heritage or the simplicity of the weekly Sunday dinner with their family.

I agree with you on one point at least. It was a pleasure to hear Clinton speak. I didn't realize how much I missed a president who could speak in sentences of more than 5 or 6 words, without those spacey pauses in between where you can almost see the synapses trying to fire.

BTW, a few weeks ago you were musing about writing something called "giving stupid people the benefit of the doubt". I guess you tossed that idea, eh.

Nicely subtle.

I am an idiot in that I did not take notes for "Giving Stupid People The Benefit Of The Doubt". The same holds true with my promise for a post on "Frivolous Commissions", that is looking like it will never see the light of day either. The Ideas just aren't gelling.

My time here is transient. My ideas are transient. Unless I take notes and have the time to develop an idea, they fall by the wayside, never again to see the light of day.

Not to mention, my work load and domestic responsibilities have caused me to lose site on a lot of my ideas.

Thank you, at least, for giving me the benefit of the doubt.
