Would I See It?

I have not viewed Fahrenheit 911, nor have I viewed anything else that Michael Moore has done.

From everything that I've heard and read, it is not a "documentary", and should not be classified as such. It should not be defined as a "documentary" because there is no opposing view. It is simply Michael Moore, stating his views regarding 9/11.

So where does that leave a "pro-Bush" person? Would I watch it?

The answer is "yes", but only after it is available on DVD.

Why Would I Watch It?

There are a number of reasons why I would watch it. The major reason is curiosity. I would love to be able to watch this objectively and attempt to disseminate the crap from the juicy nuggets of truth. And then, once those juicy nuggets of "truth" were revealed, disect those as well.

The other reason is for the simple basis of "argument". How can one have an intelligent discussion about a topic without knowing, in detail, the opposing point of view? One can not flippantly say "...911" is crap and not have anything to back it up. Watch it, AND THEN make your statement.

"Know thy enemy". Not that M.M. is "the enemy". As a country, we have many other personal demons to exorcise first. M.M. is far down the list. But if for some of you, M.M. truly IS the enemy, you should be watching this movie to obtain his weaknesses.

Duh. What is the first thing the CIA and the DoD do when they get a video of an al Qaeda statement? Do they not analyze it and disect it? If you have the same "enemy" mentality towards M.M., do the same for his work.

If it sounds like this is a pro-Bush person publicizing "...911", you're wrong. We are fortunate to live in a nation that encourages free speech. I made no attempt in this article to slam Bush or M.M. Again I reiterate that I have not seen "Fahrenheit 911", nor do I plan to in the near future. My only rant here is not to make a judgement about the movie until you have seen it. Whatever happened to "innocent until proven guilty"?

I have watched a Moore film entitled "Bowling for Columbine" in which he examines the reason behind America's Violence....including the columbine shootings, our facination with guns, and why the USA is has the highest death rate of people killed by guns. It was very interesting and it makes you think and brings about good views... I don't think I would go to the theaters and pay 8 bucks but, yeah I will definitely rent it! I am neither for or against Bush but, then again, I am only 17 years old and have just began to take an interest in politics. The "voice of tomorrow"? hmmm...I suppose so...

Then you should watch it and take in as many different views as possible so You can make your mind up about what you would like your future to hold.

well said....and sadly it needed to be said....too many of us are prepared to shoot the messenger rather than the message. In argument, passion will go nowhere if it is not backed up with reasoned logic....

I saw clip of Moore the other night where he deliberately did not call the film a documentary but an opinion piece....which it undoubtably is

one thing that fascinates me about the critics of this film is that the more 'noise' they make about it the more interest is generated and the more people will go to watch. All the court challenges and protests are surely counter-productive

Very well stated piece. I think more people need to think the way you do on the issue.
